a look outside with meteorologist ava marie. our big story this morning comes out of baltimore county, where a four-alarm fire at a hotel, sent two people to the hospital, and forced the evacuation of all150 hotel guests . this happened last night at the days inn in the 57-hundred block of baltimore national pike in catonsville. and 11 news reporter sheldon dutes was there. arrest in that deadly stabbing outside an inner harbor restaurant on july 4th. 32-year-old marcus harris faces first degree murder charges this morning in connection with the death of joseph calo. harris turned himself in at police headquarters saturday afternoon. calo was a tourist from alabama. he was stabbed to death outside of mccormick and schmick's restaurant shortly after the july 4th fireworks show. police believe the stabbing may have been the result of an earlier altercation. a wittness took a picture of the suspect .. which turned out to be an invaluable piece of evidence. calo's former girlfriend says she's pleased about the arrest. according to court records, harris' criminal history dates back to 2005
events. >> i was in the house and just heard the big explosion. >> when tyrone butler came outside -- >> there was a van, a van. that van was just into a bus and that guy was laying out there. >> the driver of this mercedes caused a three-car accident but police say it started on the 2000 block of liberty avenue. someone shot a man multiple times then took off in the victim's car. police spotted the mercedes then police put out a description of the call. >> we got a call saying that white mercedes had crashed and struck two vehicles, ejecting one man out of his vehicle, a van that was moving. >> the man was rushed to the hospital. he is expected to survive. >> at least two people ran out of the mercedes and tried to ran away. >> police found him in the yard not too far from where we're standing. his leg was broken. >> one suspect was hiding behind a house up against trash next to the porch. so we believe there's one more suspect out there. >> the search continues for that suspect and the charges are pending for the man in custody. >> the suspect in police custody is being treated f
. first, the heat continues to be the big story everyone is talking about. ava, my goodness. >> brutal is a good way to describe it. we were hoping the heat would break, but i think we have to wait another day for it. it is not going to be as hot as it was the past couple days. boy was it hot yesterday. we look at the temperatures, 102 at b.w.i. marshall. that tied the record back from 1991. the inner harbor got up to 103. yesterday was definitely one for the record books. quite a bit of areas actually reached up to that triple digit mark from texas to kansas city. many areas in the eastern coast as well. we're going to be close to that today. i don't think we'll reach the 100-degree mark. humidity up at 69%. we'll talk about how hot ss going to get today. that will all be coming up in my forecast. so stay tuned to those details. >> our big story is it one family's plea to your help to find the missing 7-month-old boy. >> here's sheldon dutes with the latest on the investigation. >> i'm hurt. that's my son. snb walked away with my son. what do you think i do? >> when whifney left her s
's warm but humid. >>> a big story comes out of baltimore county. a four alarm fire at a low tell hotel centre people t sent peop. >> it happened at the day's inn at cantonville. >> the firefighters are trying to figure out the cause of the fire. >> i was watching a movie. >> it was a far cry from a movie set. they were among the 150 guests that were forced to evacuate the day's inn on baltimore pike. >> everyone went out. nobody took the stairs because it was on the 7th floor until we saw a heavy dark flame coming out. >> the fire blocked traffic and attracted several onlookers. >> we were going down the road and saw all of the flashing lights and all of these people on facebook were talking numbers and half of my friends were firefighters and we saw the ladders and decided to come down. >> they called for a fire box and since then they asked for three additional alarms and we are up to 4 alarms now. >> three people were rushed to hospital for smoke inhalation and a fire fighter was treated for injuries. the cause and origin of the fire is under investigation. they are working to put a
